Steel Sensation started off in Queens Village, New York. Over the years the band has grown to become a main component of the Steel Drum Movement in the United States. The band is well known for their excellent sound, choice of music, and large repertoire. With one of Trinidad's top young arrangers Amrit Samaroo, the band has taken their music to a higher level. Beside cocktail hours and concerts, Steel Sensation has also been working in various schools, colleges, and museums, explaining and demonstrating the art of the steel pan. This keeps the band working year round with steel pan exhibitions and workshops.
